Castle Douglas Civic Week AGM

The Chairman has asked me to publicise the Castle Douglas Civic Week AGM which is to be held at 7pm on Monday 6th September 2010 in the Douglas Arms Hotel.

This meeting is open to the general public so please bring along family, friends, or anyone who would like to volunteer to help organise the events for the next year or so.

Please support this meeting by finding new helpers.

Great entertainment today:

In Lochside Theatre at 19:00 is the Variety Show. Tickets are on sale at the Toffee Shop, 109 King Street, Castle Douglas at £5 each. Call to check availability on 01556 502903

Bands Night starts in Lochside Park at 20:30. Acts include the Dangleberries and Mix Chix. Come and enjoy the Party! Food and refreshments on sale, admission free

Fireworks Extravaganza A huge fireworks display will be set off in Lochside Park from 22:30 (once it is dark enough). Come along and support this fantastic event.

Country Walk Treasure Hunt

The country walk treasure hunt saw 50 people walk to Threave Castle and back and complete the 30 questions..

1st team was 'Connelly Girls' with 29 points.
2nd Team was 'Edgar' with 28 points.

Cycle ride

Outright (Expert) Winner with 40 points - Murray & Dodds
1st Place with 37 1/2 points - Ever Hopefuls
2nd Place with 37 points - Cairnsmore Crew

Another packed events day!

Meet the Birds in Lochside park between 11:00 and 16:00 (may be other stands);
Car Treasure Hunt 18:30 (NOT a speed event);
Country Walk Treasure Hunt 18:30;
Cycle Tour 18:30 [These three events start from Threave Rovers Football Ground and have been organised by the Rotary Club for the benefit of Civic Week]
Ladies Night 19:00 in Lochside Theatre;
Prize Bingo in the Douglas Arms from 19:00!!!!
