Having lived in Castle Douglas for many years we decided to put up a community web site for the town after spending a sabbatical in France for a year. The French are very social-minded and I was taken back to my days working in community development (community businesses and credit unions).

Fortunately setting up a web site these days is pretty easy so I can't claim great skill in so doing! Of course, It'll take some time to get it noticed and used, and if it does grow then it will clearly have a role. We'll see.

We live right in the Town, have kids at the schools and other family here too. so we are concerned with what's going on, and how Castle Douglas develops.
