| Cycling Dumfries | We want to celebrate what’s great about cycling in Dumfries, and encourage as many people to join us as we can, but we also want to try and improve the facilities in any way we can. We’re not affiliated to the council, or Go Smart, but we do want to work with them to improve the lot of cyclists in the area. We are here to represent the ordinary cyclist, in fact everyone who might like to cycle for whatever reason, even if they don’t now. |

| Dumfries and Galloway Seniors Forum |
The organisation has a proven track record of working on behalf of older people,
giving a voice to seniors, not only in the affairs that affect them locally, but
in particular when issues are likely to affect them directly. The Forum has
always done this through its ethos of membership - that is, through older people
acting and speaking on behalf of themselves and other older folk. and other agencies within Dumfries & Galloway. Issues raised that have been important over the years have been transport, health, care and welfare, housing, fuel poverty and benefit maximisation.

| Kirkcudbright | Established as a Royal Burgh in 1455, Kirkcudbright has always been supported by a busy fishing trade. Behind the harbour the streets have housed generations of creative artists, a tradition maintained today by a flourishing colony of painters and craftworkers. This has led to it being called "The Artists' Town". Other well known features of the town are the pastel coloured houses and wide streets, the wide selection of mainly family owned shops where almost everything can be got, and the free parking all over town | ![]() |
